Editor’s (final) note
Dearest Internet Friends,
Real quick, because I hate goodbyes: This is my last day at METRO magazine. It’s time to follow my dream of racing cross-country against a ragtag crew of drunks, good ol’ boys and Middle Eastern sheiks. Dom DeLuise and Burt Reynolds, too. Wait-that’s the plot of Cannonball Run. In reality, I’m going to Delta Sky magazine, which, contrary to what my smartass friends would have you believe, is not the same as SkyMall (though how fun would it be to write those blurbs about garden gnomes and therapeutic foot pillows?).
I’ll sincerely miss working on the magazine-and seeing it come to life on this here site (nice work, Drew)-but I’m certain that incoming Chief of All Editors Dana Raidt will do wonders with it. Here’s my first letter to Editor Raidt: Why does METRO always put lists on its covers?! What’s next: “567 Top Animal Psychics”? I kid, Dana.
And now back to our regularly scheduled web programming (read “The Year That Was” for a taste of the best city mag in town; of course, I’m biased).
Bye,
Chris Clayton, editor in chief, METRO
